ARES - Aerial Rescue and Evacuation System

Aerial Rescue Evacuation SystemThe fastest, safest, means to clear disabled chair lifts and gondolas
You are the ski patrol supervisor on duty. A crowded chair-lift stalls in whiteout conditions. The mechanics have been working on the lift for an hour, but cannot give you a time when it will return to operation.

There is only one thing to do. Deploy your ski-patrol rescue team equipped with the ARES, aerial rescue and evacuation system. This tested and proven system will get your cold (and by now frightened) skiers safely to the ground under the most grueling conditions.

The ARES rescuer rides the chair lift or gondola cable and can communicate instructions directly to the rescuees. The rescuer can ensure that all systems are properly configured before anyone leaves the lift chair or gondola, dramatically reducing the chance of injuries.

Equipped with the Wonder Bar II bi-directional rescue lowering device, the ARES system is simply the fastest, safest, most efficient means for evacuating gondolas, sky trams and chair lifts

Superior Speed and Safety

Ski Patrol on Lift Cable

The ARES is designed to rapidly evacuate entire lift or gondola systems. It can quickly be removed and replaced on the cable to circumvent obstacles such as chairs and towers. For maximum speed, its optional Wonder Bar II lowering and breaking system can be used with a chair or sling on both ends of the lowering line. This eliminates the need to reset the lowering system with every lowering.

Ski Patrol Chair Rescue Optimal communications and control

Hands-on rescues are much safer. When the rescuer is at the chair or gondola, they can maintain control of the situation. Communicating with the passengers is key to safe lowerings.

Unfortunately, ground based rescue systems leave the rescuer 50 to 100 feet away, possibly out of eyesight or hearing range of the passenger.

Ski Patrol Rescue LoweringBe Ready For Any Challenge

Ground based rescue systems can work fine for able bodied subjects and favorable conditions. However, with the inclusive growth of winter and mountain sports we are seeing more and more situations where the ski patrol needs every advantage to effect fast and safe evacuations of chair lifts and gondolas. The cost of the ARES rescue system is justified by its superior margin of safety over ground based evacuation systems.

Protect your skiers, boarders and mountain enthusiasts. Protect your mountain rescuers, and protect the resort.
